About Our Church
AGWC History
We are an Assemblies of God Pentecostal church.
We started under this denomination in 1971 as Clapton Pentecostal Church at 171 Rushmore Road, Clapton, London E5 0HA. In the early 1980s we changed our name to Clapton Christian Centre.
In 2011, after nearly forty years, we renamed ourselves Amazing Grace Worship Centre.
We are a member of the Evangelical Alliance, and a member of Churches Together In England.
For God's glory alone, we want to be AMAZING in both name and nature.
We are in Fellowship with Assemblies Of God in Great Britain, a Member of the Evangelical Alliance, and a Member of Churches Together In England.
We are a registered charity. Registered Charity Number 1138718. We are a company limited by guarantee and registered in England. Company Number 07406467.
Our Mission
To know God and make God known
To be disciples and make disciples of Jesus
To foster passionate love for Christ in every member and to bring His power to a broken world
To be a place where the hurting find healing and comfort, and the rejected find acceptance and care in the love of God and His people
Our primary scriptural strategic focus is on prayer - prayer makes us aware of God’s resources, man’s need, our weaknesses without God, and our sufficiency with God.
